The main game could easily have had an extra chapter, playing as kidman. Personally, i vastly preferred tew 2 (and, with some bias, honestly recommend getting it more) due to its improved story structure and more open level design, but if you've enjoyed tew 1, the dlc is a solid purchase which adds a lot to the story of the base game.

It is set in first person, is 100% combat oriented, is short, and most notably has the player control one of the monsters (the safe headed thing), instead of a human character.

The game would've been better with it (although it does make some stuff more confusing). Mobius inserts some guy trying to save his daughter into stem in the form of the keeper, and use him to basically wipe the slate clean.
